About the role
ABOUT TCI
Total Concept Integration partners with brands, agencies and production teams to bring creative visions to life through AV integration and technical production. We specialize in LED, audio, projection, lighting and media server systems, complemented by custom software development and content creation.
Our work spans live events, brand activations, retail environments and permanent installations. We work as an extension of our clients’ teams, connecting creative intent with the engineering, technology and execution needed to make it happen.
POSITION OVERVIEW
TCI is seeking an experienced Lead LED Video Wall Technician to lead installations, coordinate technical crews and take ownership of the quality and performance of our LED systems.
This is an active technical role for someone who is equally comfortable building LED walls, configuring processors, troubleshooting signal flow and directing a crew. You will work closely with project managers, engineers and other technicians throughout equipment preparation, installation, operation and dismantling.
LED expertise is the primary focus. A strong foundation in general AV and a willingness to support the complete system are also essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead LED Builds
Coordinate and participate in LED wall assembly, alignment, cabling, configuration, testing and dismantling. Maintain high standards for panel handling, seam alignment, image quality and overall presentation.
Coordinate Crews
Work with project managers to establish build sequences, assign responsibilities and communicate priorities. Direct technicians and local labor, monitor progress and identify issues before they affect the schedule.
Prepare and Test Equipment
Review technical drawings, equipment lists, wall layouts and signal flow documentation. Verify panel counts, processing requirements, cable paths, power requirements and spare equipment with the project team. Test systems before deployment.
Configure and Troubleshoot Systems
Set up LED processors, screen mapping, receiving card configurations and video routing. Diagnose issues involving panels, modules, power supplies, data connections, fiber links, processing and playback sources. Verify resolution, scaling, frame rate, brightness and image consistency.
Support General AV
Assist with media servers, playback systems, video switching, projection, audio, lighting, equipment racks and basic networking. Trace signal paths, label connections and help resolve issues across the complete installation.
Document and Hand Over Systems
Complete system checks before rehearsals, client reviews and project completion. Save processor configurations, document technical changes and support operator training when required.
Maintain Equipment and Safe Working Practices
Inspect, clean, organize and service equipment within your training and authorization. Track damaged components, maintain spare parts and verify equipment returns. Follow approved installation plans and coordinate with qualified riggers and electricians for structural, overhead and electrical work.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Professional experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting LED video walls, including experience leading builds or directing technical crews.
Working knowledge of LED processing and configuration platforms such as NovaStar VMP, NovaLCT, Brompton Tessera or comparable systems.
Strong understanding of video signal flow, resolutions, aspect ratios, refresh rates, HDMI, DisplayPort, SDI, Ethernet and fiber connectivity.
General AV experience involving playback equipment, rack systems, cabling and basic network configuration.
Ability to read technical drawings, equipment layouts and signal flow diagrams.
Strong communication, organization and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and delegate effectively.
A professional approach when working with clients, vendors, venue teams and fellow technicians.
Residence within 50 miles of Rancho Cucamonga and the ability to report reliably to our facility and assigned project locations.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience with Unilumin LED products, NovaStar COEX processors and VMP.
Familiarity with PIXERA, Resolume, video switchers, scalers and media server workflows.
Experience with permanent AV installations, fine pixel pitch LED, curved displays or custom LED configurations.
Experience with module replacement, equipment maintenance and technical quality control.
Familiarity with Dante audio, Q SYS, lighting control or AV networking.
Relevant manufacturer training, AV certifications or current lift and forklift qualifications.
You do not need to be an expert in every AV discipline. We value technicians who are willing to learn, contribute beyond their primary specialty and help the entire team succeed.
SCHEDULE AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work takes place at our facility and at venues, retail spaces and installation sites. Project schedules may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and travel.
The role involves standing, bending, reaching, using tools and moving LED panels, cabling and equipment cases. Appropriate lifting equipment, team assistance and required safety procedures must be used.
Essential duties must be performed safely, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
You arrive prepared, communicate clearly and deliver installations that are safe, organized and ready on schedule. Your crew understands the plan, technical issues are addressed methodically and equipment is returned ready for the next project.
You take ownership of the finished system and the experience we deliver to the client.
